WITHDRAWLS
ON-SITE ALTERNATES
An Onsite Alternate is a player whose name appears on the NAL and chooses to be on site in Memphis in hope of getting into the tournament. All such players who intend to be Onsite Alternates must participate in the tournament registration process on July 12th so we know you are on-site. Replacement of withdrawing players continues as described above; however identifying yourself as an Onsite Alternate will allow you to receive important tournament information and instruction on how to be available if an opening occurs in the draw at the last minute.
Instructions for On-Site Alternates
#1 - Check-In With Keri
Step 1 is to check in with Keri Davis at Player Check-In, 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 12.
#2 - Pay Your Entry Fee
You MUST pay your $95.00 entry fee before you can be listed as an On-Site Alternate. PLEASE NOTE!!! If you do not play doubles and do not make it into singles, this entry fee will be returned to you. If you elect to play doubles, the $95.00 will pay for your entry into doubles.
#3 - After You Get Back to the Hotel, Check Your Standing
After all the players have checked in, most likely around 10:00 pm on Saturday, July 12, we order all the On-Site Alternates according to their standings on the Girls’ 18 Clays National Alternate List. We will post this list on the web site. Please check the USTA website (Tournament ID # 704200208) on Saturday evening to determine your standing on the On-Site Alternate List.
#4 - Sign In at the Tournament Desk Each Morning
On-Site Alternates must check in at The Racquet Club Tournament Desk (AT THE MAIN SITE) by 8:00 am the first two days of play. An On-Site Alternate sign in list will be posted on the draw board. On-Site alternates must sign in on this list in order to let us know you are on site. DO NOT SIGN UP AND LEAVE. Unfortunately being an on-site alternate is a waiting game. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE RACQUET CLUB TOURNAMENT DESK IN ORDER TO REPLACE SOMEONE IN THE DRAW. If you are not present, we will go to the next alternate on the On-Site Alternate List.
#5 - Watch and Wait
If a player no-shows for a match or a player withdraws before setting foot on the court for her first match, we then call the highest ordered On-Site Alternate who has signed in on time to the Racquet Club Tournament Desk, and that player will be placed in the draw. That player will be directed to either a Racquet Club court or will be sent to the alternate site where the match is scheduled.
If we have any withdrawals the evening of Saturday, July 12, Keri will call you at your hotel or on your mobile to let you know you are in the event and let you know what time you are playing.
Payment of Entry Fees by Players Accepted into the Draw after Entry Deadline
Certain players’ credit cards ARE NOT CHARGED ONLINE even though you enter a credit card # online.
Players accepted into the draw after the initial acceptance (i.e. WILD CARDS, ALTERNATES WHO GET IN AFTER THE INITIAL ACCEPTANCE, etc.) are not charged the $95.00 entry fee online.
Such players accepted after the entry deadline MUST PAY THEIR ENTRY FEES AT CHECK-IN ON SATURDAY, JULY 12.
